WHAT IS A WAX MELT AND HOW DO THEY WORK?
A wax melt is essentially a wickless candle! They are the modern alternative to traditional wax candles.
To release the fragrance from the wax, wax melts need to be warmed. As the wax melts the fragrance is released, just like a candle, except of course there is no wick. A wax melt relies on the use of either an electric wax melt warmer or a tealight burner.
You can reuse wax melts just as you would re-lighting a candle until all the fragrance is released from the wax melt. Once this happens the wax melt can be disposed.
ELECTRIC WARMER V TEALIGHT BURNER
This flameless option of an electric melter is a wonderful option if you have small children and pets as they’re flameless. But if you love the ambience of a flickering candle, then the tealight burner is for you. The wax itself is placed on the top of the burner and the wax is warmed by a tealight placed underneath the wax.
HOW DO FIFIBELLS MAKE THERE WAX MELTS?
Our wax melt bars are poured into reusable moulds and left to cure for 9-14 days. Each wax bar has 5 cells which can be easily snapped off and placed into your burner. Each cell will have around 12 hours fragrance time. That’s a total of 60 hours fragrance per one bar!
WHAT GOES INTO OUR WAX BARS?
100% natural soy wax sourced from purely ethical and non-genetically modified sources which is biodegradable and vegan friendly. No additives, candle dye or glitter are ever added.
Our soy wax is combined with concentrated uk produced fragrance oils, vegan-friendly, cruelty-free and paraben-free and encased in eco no plastic packaging.
HOW DO YOU REMOVE A WAX MELT?
Unlike a candle, the wax will not evaporate over time, but the scent will usually disappear after 2/3 tea-light candles\ approx 8/12 hours if using a electric melter. This is the point you will need to remove the wax from your burner and replace it with a fresh wax melt.
Electric Warmer.
When the wax is in its melted form, pop in one cotton wool pad to absorb the wax, then add another cotton wool pad on top of the pad and flip them both over to absorb the remaining melted wax. Once all the wax is absorbed remove the cotton wool and throw away. Wipe away any leftover residue with another cotton wool pad or paper towel. Tealight Burner
When the wax is cool and hardened, add a tealight candle and set a two minute timer. This will warm the wax slightly on one side, after the two minutes give the wax a wiggle and the whole disk of wax melt will slide out.
